Bushings, Baby!
This morning, I found myself still awake at around 7 o’clock. I was so bored that I decided to tweak the Fish a bit.
I run a pair of stock Randal R-II 125mm trucks which was pretty stable but I wanted to put more “life” to it; I wanted it to carve even easier. So with my skate tool in hand, I removed the trucks and started to disassemble it. I was reading a thread on Silverfish and I found out that the stock yellow Randal bushings had a durometer of 92a. Resuscitating This Blog
I haven’t posted anything here in ages so I decided, the other night, to sort of transform this into “Gabby’s Longboard Adventure Blog” or something like that.
I’m fairly new to longboarding and I just want to have something to “record” my progress in. Hopefully, a few months or years from now, I will be able to look at this blog and see how far I’ve gone; keyword: “hopefully” hahaha!
Anyway, I shall be re-posting previously published entries from my other blog.
Gub-bye! =D

Can I Just Say. . .
The Fish tastes… err… feels awe-fcking-some!
I finally got to use it a bit earlier. I went to 9th street to try it out since the road there is not as bad as other roads here. It was fun spending an hour on it. Right now, all I can say is that it feels great! The board isn’t that flexy for me, maybe because of my weight, but when my brother steps on it, that’s the time the flex shows. Now I wonder… maybe I should gain a little weight just so I can feel the flex. Hahaha!

I Caught a Fish!
I went to Dasma after lunch to get the board, Khiro Big Bad Bushing Kit, and the Mckay 5-way skate tool from Paolo. I decided to get the bushing kit and tool just in case I wanted to do quick tune-ups in the future or something like that. Continue reading ‘I Caught a Fish!’

New Hoodie for the New Year
Since Kate, my brother’s girlfriend, came from the U.S., she got me a zip-up hoodie as her pasalubong (it’s a Filipino term which can be loosely translated to “gift”). My first reaction was, “Wow! Mukhang emo!” (Wow! It looks emo!); but it’s nice and comfy.
Anyway, let me back track to the events of this afternoon. First off, we had lunch at Green Valley over at Annapolis, Greenhills. The food we had was awesome! I didn’t memorize what we had but I can say that their fried pigeon was superb… actually, everything we had was really good.
So after that, we went straight to Shakey’s E. Rodriguez for my niece Carol’s first birthday; my nephew Liam dominated the party games – he just won nine out of ten games. I spent about fifteen minutes playing in the FunZone, the mini arcade inside the restaurant.
When we got home, I realized that I had to go to Gilmore to buy a new keyboard since I thrashed the last one I bought and I had to return my brother’s. So I got myself a Logitech Classic Keyboard Plus and here’s the feature I like the most… *drum roll please!* it’s spill-resistant! And I got it for less than three hundred bucks.
Moving on to other current events, classes resume tomorrow. I have five subjects with PE 132 (Taichi) being the first one at 7:00 am. I guess I better rest early tonight. I shall start cramming now! *lol*
